Refund Policy

We want you to be happy with what you have paid for, and we would rather sort out a problem than process a refund. If you do need one, here is exactly how it works.

Same day, before you generate a document

If you ask on the same business day you purchased, and you have not yet generated any document, we will refund the full amount.

After that, before you generate a document

If you ask after that day but before you have generated any document, we will refund your purchase less the payment processing fee we were charged. That fee is typically two to three dollars and is not returned to us when a payment is refunded.

Once you generate a document

Generating a document is the point where you receive what you paid for, so purchases are not refundable after that. This applies to the Will, the Power of Attorney, the Personal Directive, the Life Discovery Kit and the funeral documents. This is about refunds only — your purchase separately includes three years of updates to your documents from the date of purchase, even after you have generated them. See our Terms of Service for details.

Time limit

Refund requests can be made up to 30 days after purchase, or until you generate a document, whichever comes first.

Credits

Unused will bundle credits expire three years from the date of purchase, and Order of Service Planner credits two years from the date of purchase. Expired credits are not refundable.

How to ask

Go to Account, then Refund. If your purchase is still eligible, the refund is processed right away and you do not need to give a reason. If it is outside the window, the page will tell you and you can start a request from Support in your account.

If your bank asks

If you contact your bank or card issuer instead of us, we may not be able to help you directly while their process is running. Contacting us first is almost always faster.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published on the day you bought.
